LaSuna, the Saudi Arabian loungewear line, makes its way to Rodarte’s front row. Claire Courtin-Clarins made an unconventionally ravishing fashion statement with these pants, pairing them with an Aztec Proenza and fur.

Mina Ro Mina has exactly what you need this Valentine’s Day (yes, it’s okay to gift yourself. No, no one needs to know.) These beautifully designed initial pendants (part of their new Glyphs collection) have just enough edge to be rocked by men but more than enough elegance to be worn by women be it in silver, rhodium, or gold. Previewing at LuxCartel, we say it’s the perfect gift to go and get for the perfect person.
Panama hats.
Ecuadorian Panama hats.
Ecuadorian Panama hats that are sustainable.
Ecuadorian Panama hats that are sustainable and handmade by artisans!
For Ecuadorian native Gabriela Goldbaum, creative director of Valdez, there was always something intriguing about the Ecuadorian tradition known as the Panama hat. She noticed that over generations, the art of making the Panama has been declining due to a lack of commercialization. So what did GG do? Inspired by their true potential, she commissioned small communities of artisans and sourced locally-manufactured traditional ribbons to make a unique (and sustainable) collection of hats. Launched in 2011, you can now find Valdez at Opening Ceremony– but act fast! The Panamas have been flying off the distorted acrylic shelves lately!
So, we all know how bipolar the weather has been in NYC this past week (no,no us New Yorkers are not complaining. Not one bit.) BUT waking up in the morning we’re super confused as to what to wear given this lovely weather and all. Don’t worry though, we’ve got a solution to all your problems and it’s called Kalmanovich. Contrary to popular belief floral prints can be worn year round, and we’re here to prove it to you! Julia Kalmanovich’s Spring/Summer 2012 looks have given us such joy on days like these, and we’re super excited to share with you one of our favorite pieces of this collection. Feels like Spring outside? Pair this intricately detailed ensemble with an orange blazer, a pretty little clutch (we suggest Christopher Kane’s Jelly Clutch) and a bare leg. Fall? Add a fringed jacket (a la Stella McCartney) and a pastel handbag (Proenza Schouler PS1 pouch.) Going out on a hot summer night? Add a statement ring (Repossi) and, well, nothing else because you don’t need much to wow people away when you’re wearing Kalmanovich! And soooo on and sooo forth.
There you have it. The Kalmanovich answer to global warming!
Fashion, art, and activism. Led by Creative Director Maroussia Rebecq, Andrea Crews is just one of those collectivist brands, hailing from Paris that combines several aspects of contemporary creation. Andrea Crews presents and stages its collections, performances, happenings and videos in opposition of uniformity, emphasizing personal creativity and independence.
Featured worldwide from Colette to H. Lorenzo and The Lolipop Shoppe and participating in fashion concepts such as Project White T-Shirt, we can see that Andrea Crews has engrained itself deep in the fashion world and the creativity just keeps flowing!
Now, let us be the first to tell you about their genius idea of the multi-purpose foulard. A true collaborative chef-d’oeuvre, the silk scarves – similar to their Double T-shirt and Double Robe Bless – feature prints from some of the brand’s favorite emerging artists. In other words: two silk scarves, two different art works, and two thousand ways to wear them (A scarf? Oui! A Kaftan? Yes!! A tunic? Si!!!)
Feast your eyes on these.
We’re obsessed! OBSESSED! xx
Created by Waris Ahluwalia and Tilda Swinton, ‘Here’ takes us on a journey where the views are gorgeous, the clothes are mouth watering, the makeup is romantic, and the ending will leave you in awe (and hating your boyfriend/girlfriend/husband/wife/partner/lover/etc. etc. etc.).
With all that being said, can we just take a moment and appreciate all the beautiful detail that went into the making of such a short but memorable film? From the clothing (we want that camel coat and biker gloves) to the makeup (Nico Guillis has outdone herself again) every detail is beautiful.
Check out the video below and be sure to visit our good friend Nico Guillis’ website for more of her work! xxx
